‘Jessica Jones’ Renewed for Season 3 on Netflix

Your favourite female superhero TV show is coming back!

Marvel superhero drama Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season on Netflix. The announcement came a month after the show’s second season dropped on the International Women’s Day. However, the return date has not yet been decided.

With this, Jessica Jones avoided the round of cancellations occurring in Netflix, which will see shows like Lady Dynamite, Disjointed and Everything Sucks! discontinued. We can expect to see how the plot unraveled after (spoilers alert) the titular character (Krysten Ritter) broke off her friendship with Patsy Walker (Rachael Taylor), who seemed to have acquired superpower as well.

Netflix’s decision to keep the show came in the midst of Disney’s preparation to launch its own streaming service. Last year, Disney pulled all of its Marvel feature films from Netflix.
